Kingfisher Ward is a 30 bed rehabilitation ward devoted to the care of patients who need assessment, treatment and or rehabilitation, but who do not need to be in an acute hospital.
Patients may have been admitted to Kingfisher Ward from an acute hospital, or from the community.
The ward has 16 side rooms, each with its own toilet and shower room. There are also three, four bedded bays each with two toilets and a washroom. There is another separate bathroom and shower room on the ward if required/wanted.
If you've been admitted to the ward your needs will be assessed by a mulit-disciplinary team of Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherpists and Occupational Therapists, who will plan with you the care and support you will need during your stay.
Further information is contained within the attached ward booklet.
All visitors are welcome to the ward and we value their support in helping patients to rehabilitate. However, to guard against infection, we ask all visitors to use the hand gel provided before and after visiting. Hand gel dispensers can be found throughout the ward. We also ask that visitors do not sit on beds, if extra chairs are needed please ask a member of staff.
Visiting hours are between 10am and 8pm every day, with the exception of meal times. To ensure our patients are able to eat all their meals uninterrupted, the ward is closed during the following times:
Lunch: 12 noon to 1:30pm
Dinner: 5pm to 6:30pm
In exceptional circumstances, please speak to a member of staff.
